Germany will work to optimize production of commercial vehicle batteries




Germany's ZF AG (ZF FriedrichshafenAG), Continental (Continenta) companies and Ads-tec companies will jointly develop a new production technologies, to optimize the hybrid commercial vehicles lithium-ion energy storage unit module (lithium-ionenergystorageunitmodules ) pre-assembly and final assembly stage.

The production technology R & D project from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (GermanFederal Ministry of Education and Research), aims to develop a variety of vehicles can be flexibly applied to the energy storage unit.

Specifically, researchers will develop one for trucks and buses in the lithium-ion energy storage unit of production technology.

In addition, the hybrid system supplier ZF (ZF) will be responsible for the energy storage unit integrated into the entire system. They are the parallel hybrid drive modules, power inverters, hybrid power control unit, Continental Automotive Lithium-ion energy storage unit and electronic unit. In addition, ZF to develop and test lithium-ion battery hybrid technology and other components to make it satisfy the commercial vehicle market.

Continental will be responsible for research and development of battery components, including line production optimization technology product design, basic production, assembly and testing procedures.

The cooperation of third parties ads-tec is responsible for research and development, automated production testing and technical testing.

The projects funded by the German government will be the end of summer 2011.
